*Use code ROF for 40% OFF and 3 free towels from Miracle Made at https://trymiracle.com/rof * Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has given up his fight to prevent former prosecutor Mark Pomerantz from testifying in front of Jim Jordan's Judiciary Committee, possibly because he understands that this is only going to end badly for Jordan. It isn't clear why, exactly, Jordan thinks subpoenaing a man who claims he has evidence of Trump's financial crimes is a good idea, but we'll find out soon enough. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

*This transcript was generated by a third-party transcription software company, so please excuse any typos. Jim Jordan's House Judiciary Committee and the Manhattan District Attorney's Office have reached a deal to allow former prosecutor Mark Pomerance to come and testify because for some reason, Jim Jordan thinks this is gonna blow the whole case wide open by talking to the man who's annoyed that Donald Trump was not indicted for financial crimes. Now, I'm not exactly sure of Jim Jordan's reasoning here. I don't think there is any reasoning to it, but Alvin Bragg had fought this subpoena last week. They suffered a loss at the hands of a Trump appointed judge who said that Pance does have to testify and comply with the subpoena. And the reason for that ruling was similar to Democrats with Trump's tax returns. Uh, Bragg had argued there's no legislative reason for Pance to come and testify, but Republicans had actually put forth legislation about changing the jurisdiction for the prosecution of former presidents. So the judge said, oh, but there is legislation, so your argument is invalid. Again, it is identical to what, uh, Democrats did with Trump's tax returns. So Turnabouts Fair Play can't really be mad about that. They played our game against us and they won. But then later in the week, the Second Circuit, uh, stayed that ruling and said, we're gonna give you guys time actually until Tuesday of this week to come and testify to let us hear your arguments and then we'll rule. But over the weekend, Bragg's office and Jim Jordan's committee reached an agreement to where Pomerance will be testifying on May 12th, but this is the concession from the House Judiciary Committee. He will have another prosecutor from Bragg's office there with him to go through things and see if anything that he is going to be questioned about, even is in fact privileged material. So that's a lot of words to just say, mark Pomerance is gonna testify in front of the House Judiciary Committee, and Jim Jordan's not gonna be happy that he does. Again, I don't know why Jim Jordan thinks this is a smart idea. Pomerance left Bragg's office after working there with under c Vance for years investigating Donald Trump's alleged financial crimes. They got to the point where they said they were less than 10 days away from issuing the indictments. The indictments were written, but then power changed. Bragg came in, Vance left, and Bragg said, I'm not gonna do this. So if anything, Jim Jordan trying to argue that the Manhattan DA's office has been weaponized pomerance at best, or actually at worst, proves The the exact opposite, that actually we could have popped him for these crimes and we didn't. That's the worst case scenario with the testimony is that Jim Jordan's claims blow up in his face. The best case scenario is that not only do Jim Jordan's claims blow up in his face, but also that Pance reads into the congressional record, the full list of other crimes that he says he was ready to indict. Donald Trump over polls already show us that the American public is sick and tired of these idiotic Republican con, uh, Republican committee. Excuse me. They're not happy with it. They don't like it. Voters universally agree that Republicans are focusing on issues that are not important to them, but they are paying attention to these committees. So when Pomerantz walks in there and talks about all those crimes that Trump was not indicted for, the public's gonna notice it.
